Our leadership group has been designing , constructing and operating successful venues from restaurants, cafes, function event catering venues, offsite catering with a focus in the last 20 years on the NSW Health food, catering and retail sectors since 2006. We have decades of capabilities and success within the hospitality industry and a long list of projects and history which have brought success and innovation to the Hunter.
HS Caterer has been operating in the Hospital food and beverage sector since 2006 when we first opened the retail precinct at the John Hunter Hospital. Our group constructed the retail premises in the Royal Newcastle Centre and modified existing spaces in the old John Hunter.
The operations at the John Hunter Hospital and Royal Newcastle Centre provide retail food and beverage operations for a health care workforce of 5000 as well as for patients and visitors with a seating capacity of over 600 people. The group also manages the Retail Precinct, which also includes a Pharmacy, Building Society, Florist, a hair salon and Newsagency in addition to the food outlets.
In 2016 we constructed the food outlets Baratza and Central at the entrance to Tamworth Base Hospital and in 2018 constructed the Cafe Baratza at the Belmont Hospital. All food and beverage outlets have been extremely successful and now form part of the fabric and culture within each of the hospitals.
In 2022, HS Caterer successfully designed and built three retail café outlets in the new Maitland Hospital showcasing the new Woods & Co Café eatery concept, GOGO Market convenience and Baratza Coffee Bar flagship brand.
